Pad 4 ConjSuturing

The consumable for conjunctival suturing practice: one pad, around four training sessions.

The Pad 4 ConjSuturing is a 40 x 35 x 2.5 mm training pad that mimics the thin, mobile conjunctiva for practising conjunctival closure, peritomy and fine absorbable sutures. Each pad gives you approximately four conjunctival suturing exercises, depending on your technique and how much surface you use. The pads clip into the Holder 4 ConjSuturing, which attaches to the MatPro 4 Eye for a stable, non-slipping setup under the microscope. Made in Austria by eyecre.at.

Built in layers: a thin, mobile conjunctiva on top, a Tenon’s capsule layer underneath and a firm scleral base, separated by glide layers that let the tissue planes move independently, as they do in the eye. The conjunctiva slides the way it does during closure, and the sclera gives realistic resistance when the needle goes too deep.

What you can train:

  • Conjunctival closure with interrupted and running sutures

  • Peritomy and conjunctival flap handling

  • Fine absorbable suture placement (5/0 to 7/0)

  • Tissue handling with conjunctival forceps and Westcott scissors

  • Knot tying on thin, mobile tissue

The donor half of every corneal transplantation training pair: a layered donor cornea for graft preparation on the Eye 4 Layered Cornea.

The Donor 4 Layered Cornea is the consumable donor tissue for the eyecre.at corneal transplantation training range. Every keratoplasty starts with the donor: trephination of the button for PKP, lamellar dissection for DALK, or preparation of the endothelial graft for DSAEK and DMEK. The Donor 4 Layered Cornea gives surgeons a standardized, reproducible donor to practice these preparation steps before transplanting the graft into the Eye 4 Layered Cornea recipient. Dye for Vitreous

A practical, affordable substitute for triamcinolone - one 3ml vial for visualizing membranes and the vitreous during vitrectomy training. When you order this product you receive one vial with 3ml of a triamcinolone ophthalmic solution substitute, for intraocular operation simulation on artificial or cadaver eyes. In vitrectomy training it is used to visualize membranes and the vitreous, exactly as triamcinolone is used clinically. Through many years of wetlab experience, eyecre.at knows the costs that arise from using original liquids such as trypan blue, triamcinolone or perfluorocarbon. Original medicines are not only expensive but usually unnecessary to simulate the operation - these processed liquids are an excellent, practicable replacement for wetlab use.
