Frequently asked questions

Which artificial eye is right for cataract / phaco training?

For residents starting out, the Eye 4 Cataract (from €45) with soft, medium and hard lens densities is the standard choice; the Kit 4 Rhexis with Cataract (€499) is a cost-effective option for courses. Experienced surgeons practising complications train with the Eye 4 Compromised Capsule Bag or Eye 4 Yamane. Vitreo matches the exact model to your experience level and course size.

Which model fits vitrectomy or retina training?

The Eye 4 Vitrectomy (€99) comes prefilled with synthetic vitreous, and the Eye 4 VIT/CAT combines vitrectomy and cataract training in one model. Accessories like Vitreous Body Gel, BubbleGuard and Illumination 4 Eye complete the setup.

Do you offer reusable training eyes for high-volume courses?

Yes — the R.S.E (Reusable System 4 Eye) uses a durable base with replaceable tops for cornea transplantation, vitrectomy, suturing and trabeculectomy training. At 30 eyes, R.S.E typically saves about a third of the cost and hundreds of grams of material compared to single-use eyes. Vitreo calculates the exact comparison for your quantity.

How much do artificial training eyes cost?

Single training eyes range from €45 (Eye 4 Cataract) to €99 (most specialised models such as Eye 4 SchlemmSim Pro, Eye 4 Trabeculectomy or Eye 4 Layered Cornea). Complete kits start around €490. All prices are shown live in the store — and Vitreo can unlock discounts of up to 10% on qualifying orders.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, eyecre.at ships worldwide with delivery in up to 2 weeks. Distributor conditions and volume pricing are available from €1,000 order value — see our B2B page.

Can you build a custom model for our implant or instrument?

Yes. eyecre.at offers complete custom development (fixed price or hourly), modification of existing models, and OEM/white-label manufacturing. Describe your project to Vitreo and it arranges a personal meeting with our engineering team.

Are these products for medical use?

No. All eyecre.at products are not for medical or human use, non-sterile, and intended only for demonstration and training.
