The M.A.R.K.O. LID is eyecre.at's flagship oculoplastic training model, designed to simulate the full range of eyelid and periocular surgical procedures. From blepharoplasty to ptosis correction, from ectropion repair to flap reconstruction, it provides the realistic tissue response and anatomical detail that oculoplastic surgeons need to train complex procedures with confidence. New in the 2026 revision (model version L3-B1):
• Ectropion simulation: the lower lid everts outward, so lateral tarsal strip surgery can be practised realistically
• Periosteum on the lateral orbital rim: the tarsus can be anchored laterally under tension, as in the real procedure
• More natural proportions: reduced distance from the medial lid margin to the nasal bridge and a smaller height difference between eye and brow
• Improved cutting and suturing behaviour for upper and lower blepharoplasty thanks to a new skin material with flow fibres
• New, more realistic connective and fat tissue
• Orbital septum, tarsus and levator adapted; the septum now follows the skin more closely; lacrimal gland repositioned
• Frontalis muscle moved toward the bone and flatter frontal bone: more space between muscle and skin for frontalis sling training
• Skin sits loosely on the frame instead of being fixed to it, giving a tension-free model; new frame and new head
Anatomical scope: muscles and fat tissue are unchanged in number. Upper and lower lacrimal canaliculi are indicated but not functional; lacrimal drainage surgery is covered by a separate model. The nasal region and the maxillary and nasal bones are represented schematically only.
Recommended suture: Suture 5/0 Polypropylene Blue 90 cm Double (PN0424) For all suturing on the M.A.R.K.O. LID we recommend this 5/0 polypropylene suture. It holds securely in the model's skin and tissue layers and does not tear out as quickly during repeated practice, so every model delivers more training rounds.
